Check Out a Chromebook

Did you know you are able to check out a laptop computer to take home?

The libraries within the Three Rivers Regional Library System offer Chromebooks to patrons. Simply connect to your home network, a public wireless network, or your cell phone hotspot, and access the Internet. Log in to your Google account to save your work to your Google Drive.

All you need is a PINES library card in good standing and be 18 years of age to check out a Chromebook. Under 18? You are still able to check out a Chromebook for in-library use only.

Be sure to return the laptop by the end of the week. Late fee is $5/day. We also ask that you take good care of the laptops so you and other patrons will be able to check them out again later. Fee for loss or damage is $300.

Chromebooks Are Easy to Use

Using a Chromebook is easy. It works just like the computers in the library. You can connect it to a network or hotspot, and even connect your own printer. Use it as you would any laptop computer. If you're unsure where to start, open the browser on your Chromebook and click on "START HERE."

Secure and Private

All of your data, to include files, folders, images, and anything else will be automatically deleted when you end your session or restart your Chromebook. You can safely close the lid to initiate Sleep Mode, and resume later.

If you want to save your work, use a flash drive, or log in with your Google account and save your work to your Google Drive.
